The Oklahoma Science and Engineering Foundation (OKSEF) is a local non-profit organization that was created to

promote math, science, and engineering to Oklahoma youth through LEGO robotics. We are the operational partner

for the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and Jr. FIRST LEGO (JrFLL) League programs from FIRST. FIRST or For

Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology is a worldwide program, created by inventor Dean Kamen,

to get kids interested in science and technology through robotics. We, as OKSEF, focus on the two younger

programs of FIRST. JrFLL is a program for kids ages 6-9 and FLL is for kids ages 9-14. FLL has over 100,000

students worldwide that participate. Students have around 10 weeks to build and program a robot to complete a

series of tasks on a 4’x8’ field and complete a research project based on the theme for the year where they must solve

real world problems. The teams compete and receive scores based on their robot performance, research project

presentation, robot design presentation, and teamwork skills. Since our inception OKSEF has seen over 600%

growth and continue to grow.
